An international event organized by EPIM will be held in Palermo, on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd November, 2017. Its main focus will be how to manage the reception and inclusion of young foreign migrants who arrive alone in Europe.
The conference “Beyond the emergency: quality of care for children and youth on the move across Europe”, a major international event organized by the Network EPIM – European Programme for Integration and Migration will be held in Palermo (Ecomuseo Mare – Via Messina Marine, 27, 90123 Palermo), on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd November 2017, and will be dealing with the theme of reception and inclusion of minor migrants.
The event will gather professionals, researchers, organizations and local administrators at a national and European level and will compare the issues of reception and inclusion of foreign minors arriving alone in Europe without parental assistance or representation or any other adults legally responsible for them. The conference is part of the EPIM programme “Never Alone – Building our future with children and youth arriving in Europe”, which involves several European foundations along with operators, associations, organizations and government agencies committed to strengthening youth reception procedures for integration and inclusion, in full respect of the minors’ rights.
The focus of the Palermo meeting is to enhance the good reception practices adopted in Italy, Greece, Germany and Belgium in order to promote their networking for the benefit of all Countries, Regions, operators and administrators involved in welcoming young foreigners: with a view to accompanying migrant boys and girls in their life journey in Europe and ensuring their inclusion in the community.
